Lex Newton’s Bushido can be considered as “The Way of the Dancefloor”. Praised by many house lovers on his previous Funkaccino release, Lex releases a top notch track again, mixing ethnic inspired rhythm patterns, piano harmonies, inspiring string stabs and magnetic energy.

The EP closes with a tasty debut remix from Souldust, already know as the mixing engineer of many Pole Folder and Felix Cage tracks. Souldust’s vision is as deep as it gets and delights us with finely processed instruments and carefully chosen bass and rhythm elements. A pure deep bliss.

The Belgian producer Lex Newton follows his path into the universe of House music. After his Back To New York EP, supported by artists such as Abigail Bailey, Felix Jr or Onur Ozman, he does it again with a third release on his own label, Redefine Records.

After his recent trip to the Big Apple, he comes back with one of its specialty, a cappucino prepared the Lex Newton way, generally called the Funkaccino. This beverage, which preparation is kept secret, offers a delicate but flavorsome aroma. The key of this blend resides in the selection of its ingredients : a strong House coming from the roasting of a carefully cultivated Tech House, topped with a light vocal cream.

This energizing drink is already recommended by many specialists that have been able to notice its highly positive effect on a dancefloor.

Released on June 17th, 2011.

Lex Newton comes back into the spotlight with Back To New York EP, on his own label. His successful Steel EP, also released on Redefine Records on mid February 2011, and his warmly welcomed remix of Blizzard on Electronical Reeds, make this release a highly anticipated one. Already supported by artists such as Nic Fanciulli, Charles Schillings or Denis A on his previous release, it makes no doubt that this EP will catch the attention of music lovers.

The eponymous track brings back the old school spirit with some fresh groove, and is a tribute to one of the birthplace of House music, New York City. The rhythm sets up quickly as well as a warm black male voice that reminds of vocals from another birthplace of House music, Chicago. The tracks then builds up with a powerful bass and screaming horns, not unlike some old disco standards from the Big Apple. Chicago-style vocals, New York-inspired mood and catchy drums makes for a glowing tribute track that will set dance floors on fire.

The “42nd Street” is a famous NYC street just a few steps away from Times Square, hosting probably the most world-renowned musicals. It certainly can be considered as a landmark of the city that never sleeps. Not unlike this lively street, the track relies on its powerful melody and effective groove to get the audience dancing. Add a kick with added vitamin, a simple yet bouncy bass line and a delay-based climax to the mix, and you’ve got the perfect prime time track for your set.

Released on April 15th, 2011.

Lex Newton presents his latest production, Steel EP, to be released on his brand new label, Redefine Records. After having remixed in 2010 JD Davis’s reinterpretation of classic Promised Land and worldwide legend Telex’s Moscow Discow on the renowned French label Pschent, Lex Newton kicks off 2011 by remixing a track by Felix Cage and Mezza Luna on Electronical Reeds imprint, along with Tokyo Black Star and Pole Folder.

After a one minute, mood-defining intro, Steel builds up on an uplifting melody and strong, straightforward drums driven by their simple yet effective kick and snare. True to his vision, Lex Newton proposes an exhilarating climax, taking the audience in a captivating dimension. Already praised for its efficiency by several renowned DJs, Steel makes for one of the most anticipated tracks of early 2011 by the Belgian club scene.

The EP closes with Felix Cage’s remix, who has been releasing in 2010 his Nightcrawler EP on Abandon (Proton) or remixes on Dirty Soul et A Must Have imprints. He begins 2011 by releasing a second EP, Blizzard, remixed by Innversions’s French and Japanese duo Tokyo Black Star, Pole Folder and Lex Newton.

Steel remix is deeply infused with Felix Cage’s artistic vision, mixing Deep Techno and melody. Inspired by the work of artists such as Paul Kalkbrenner or Sonar Kollektiv label, Felix Cage’s remix is based on laid back drums and his own finely crafted unison version of the bass line. This remix will certainly move the dancefloor and touch people at the deepest level.

Released on February 18th, 2011.
